So I know this sounds a bit strange, but something I’d love for my birthday is to hear about my followers’ cats. These cats can be either living or living on in memory, but I’d love to see pictures and hear stuff about the kitties you love so much.

So my humble request is: please post a picture of your cat (if you have one, and more is fine too), and a few interesting things about them. Do they have any strange-for-cat habits? Are they smart or dumb? Where do they like to be pet/scratched the most? Etc etc etc.

Also legit is if you don’t personally own a cat but you feel very attached to a friend’s cat. (Maybe you and your friend are roommates, or you see them a lot so you see the cat a lot too, etc.)

Also, please tag me when you post it so I won’t miss it.

This epic maw belongs to one of my aunt’s Abyssinians. I can’t remember the cats’ names, but they are beautiful, very affectionate cats  which like to cuddle. You can sit for hours just gently pulling on their tail and they’ll just sit there going herp derp herp derp herp derp. As you can see their coats are a magnificent honey brown and their ears and the ends of their tails have chocolate brown points. 

I can’t really afford to have a cat for various reasons, but if I do it would be nice to get a smoochy cat like these boys. 

This is Ralph, also known as “Ralphie”, “Chicca”, “Stinky Malinky”, “My Ugly Son”, and many other names.

My followers will probably already know Ralphie’s story - he’s an ex-stray who learned my routine and would be waiting for me when I walked to or from work because he knew I’d stop to fuss him, eventually followed me home and then stayed because I fed him. It’s been two years now and he’s still here.

He clearly had a previous owner - he’s got a bald patch around his neck where a collar would have been and he’s very vocal and affectionate. Whoever had him before must have loved him, but whether they died or moved away and left him or what, I couldn’t tell you. He’s my cat now and he follows me everywhere, shouting at me, poking me with his grabby-hands and generally supervising everything that goes on in and around the house.

He’s very clever and listens to a lot of what I say: he knows what “go to bed” means, and he can even shake a paw if you ask him nicely.

Ralph is a good cat.
